Gerry Verhaart

Gerry Verhaart has extensive experience in the funds management industry. Gerry has held senior positions in the investment teams of Tower, ANZ Managed Funds and Colonial First State. His roles have included managing investment teams, direct management of global bond and Australasian equity portfolios, performance attribution analysis and compliance, and corporate and private client management. In all roles he was a member of the respective investment strategy committees. While in his role as Senior Portfolio Manager, he achieved for Colonial First State the Morningstar 2000 International Fixed Interest Fund Manager of the Year Award. Since 2001 Gerry has been employed by the New Zealand Treasury as Investment Adviser. He is responsible for monitoring the investment management of the Crown Financial Institution’s, including the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Government Superannuation Fund, EQC, ACC, and National Provident Fund. He also contributes to other Government initiatives requiring specialist investment expertise. Gerry has a first class honours degree in mathematics from Victoria University, a Certificate in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute of Actuaries of London, and is a member of the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc.
