The economic potential from Maori-owned resources is grossly under realised and over the medium to long term we will see the emergence of an identifiable ‘Maori economy’. At TMG we believe that there is immense benefit for Maori entities by following a cooperative development path, due to the commonality in values and objectives that originate from our cultural heritage. These values and objectives often differ from those of mainstream business.
The TMG approach is characterised by ‘whakatupatotanga,’ referring to conservative and balanced investment strategies. The aim is to protect what Maori have, while diversifying and growing wealth so that Maori can do more for iwi, hapu and whanau.
